[The PSOE describes as "creepy the alignment of PP with Vox by not condemning gender violence" (17/12/2020)

In today's plenary session, the socialist spokesman, Jos Antonio Serrano, recalled comrade Sebasti n Peñaranda, for whom a minute of silence has been observed and has asked that security measures be strictly observed to avoid a third wave of the pandemic In the plenary session this morning at the Murcia City Council, the Municipal Socialist Group has not wanted to miss a "very serious" behavior that is taking place in the municipal boards chaired by Vox, where the banners against the gender violence.

It was first in Guadalupe and now in San P o X, where yesterday the neighbors raised the alarm.

For this reason, a motion of urgency has been presented that PP and Vox have voted against its debate although it has finally been approved with the support of Cs and Podemos.

For the spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group, Jos Antonio Serrano, the alignment of PP and Vox is "shocking by not condemning gender violence, which is what the posters located in municipal buildings intend." He also declared that today, that 23 years ago Ana Orantes died at the hands of her partner after publicly denouncing her prolonged abuse, "we have to continue explaining what gender violence is, it is absolutely incredible, that's why the posters are necessary, because a lot of pedagogy is still needed ".

On the other hand, the spokesman for the Municipal Socialist Group recalled "the rarity" of this last plenary session of the year that "we faced this time without our colleague Sebasti n Peñaranda, who passed away on December 4 and who has been an example of socialism and a key piece for the Municipal Socialist Group.

He was a councilor of this City Council and also a peer mayor of Guadalupe.

He knew perfectly the local administration and the importance and protagonism of the boards municipalities in the districts.

We will miss him very much.

" The Plenary has observed a minute of silence.

Also, Serrano wanted to send a message of responsibility and courage.

For this reason, he has asked that the guard not be lowered and that these next Christmas parties be celebrated wisely, since "we are still immersed in a pandemic and we cannot take a step back.

A third wave would be disastrous for the whole of society, not only because the number of infected and deceased would increase, but because it would be a new attack on our health system and our economy.

" In this sense, it advises that the security measures implemented by the health authorities be strictly followed.

"You can enjoy Christmas with the same joy without risking ourselves or those who are around us." Likewise, he has shared his wish that 2021 be the year of the end of Covid-19.

"We are entering a new year with hope because there is already a vaccine against this virus, so we hope that in a few months the pandemic will be a bad memory." Precisely, related to the pandemic, four motions have been submitted, one jointly with Podemos for the increase of places for homeless people.

"We are in winter and also the economic situation derived from Covid is leaving many people out in the open and we have to be prepared," he explained.

In addition, another motion has been defended to carry out eye examinations to minors and to help them buy glasses if necessary.

"We do not want the economic situation of some families to prevent children with visual impairments." Likewise, it has been requested that the construction of a dissuasive parking be stopped in Santiago and Zaraiche because it is an area that has grown a lot and lacks infrastructure, such as an institute or health center.

Finally, a request has been made to support the street vending sector, which has had a very bad time of not being able to sell due to the restrictions of the pandemic.

"PP and Cs have clamped and presented and approved alternatives to all of our motions," Serrano concluded.
