The course on local urban agendas of the City Council and Unimar will be developed online (26/09/2020)

The course 'Urban Agendas: a new way of understanding local governance' will be held from October 13 to 16 online.

This is one of the training actions in which the Murcia City Council participates in the summer courses and activities of the 37th edition of the International University of the Sea (Unimar).The registration period is open until October 8 and can be done on the Unimar website.

The activity is aimed at university students, technicians of European programs, local development and project processing in general, as well as any other person interested in the subject.Experts on the subject, including speakers from other countries of the European Union who are designing their Urban Agenda, will present electronically the institutional framework of local urban agendas, as well as multilevel participatory methodologies and work in key networks of local governance.

Likewise, the course will serve as a meeting point for political leaders and technical staff of the local administration for analysis and reflection on sustainable and integrated urban development.The councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, highlights that this training is developed in line with the Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda in which the City Council is immersed.

Along these lines, the municipality of Murcia, together with the municipalities of A Coruña, Castellón and Alfaro, has been selected by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, to participate as a pilot experience in the Action Plan of the Spanish Urban Agenda.“We are working together on the creation of a document that will serve as an example for local entities and municipalities to implement their respective action plans.

The Murcia 2030 Urban Agenda will be an opportunity to promote the growth and development of the municipality through the implementation of more sustainable urban policies ”, Mercedes Bernabé highlighted.Five courses on various topicsMurcia City Council participates in the 37th edition of Unimar with the launch of a total of five courses, which are the following: 'Sustainable management of the Murcia garden', 'Second Edition of Political communication and campaign strategies',' Urban Agendas: a new way of understanding local governance ',' Leisure and Disability: a path towards inclusion.

Cognitive accessibility: comprehensible spaces '(online), and' The City in Al-Andalus; perspectives from practice '(online)'.This training offer is the result of collaboration agreements between the City Council and the International University of the Sea, whose contents analyze current issues focused on the social, political and cultural sphere.
