The Women's Section of the Murcia City Council carries out 2,700 actions during the state of alarm (06/06/2020)

| The professionals in the Social Services Area have attended to all the administrative procedures and procedures and coordinated the services that have arisen in the last two and a half months | The socio-sanitary crisis caused by the expansion of the Covid-19 led the Murcia City Council to articulate a battery of measures to alleviate the effects of the pandemic on the most vulnerable groups.

This management involved all the departments.From the Women's Section of the Social Services Area, dependent on the Department of Social Rights and Family, 2,700 actions have been carried out during the state of alarm.The professionals who make up the service have attended all the administrative procedures and procedures and coordinated the services that have arisen in the last two and a half months.Of the total workforce, 12 professionals in social education, legal counseling, psychology and social work perform direct care functions for women who need it, together with administrative support and under the supervision and coordination of a person in charge of the professional team.Teleworking has guaranteed the provision of all servicesThe telework formula carried out during the state of alarm has guaranteed the provision of all the services provided to citizens from the Women's Section.Administrative procedures, procedures and coordination of care, in addition to specialized care, have been carried out normally, despite the exceptional situation that the pandemic has caused.Attention has also been maintained to registered cases of gender-based violence, as well as personal attention and follow-up work on the 7 women and 6 minors who are in foster care.

They have received daily attention to ensure their basic, social, personal and psychoeducational needs.Councilor for Social Rights, Pilar Torres, has indicated that "the attention of women who need it most is a priority for the Government Team.

I sincerely thank all the workers for the great effort they have made in recent weeks to guarantee the social care that we provide from the Town Hall.

"Legal, educational, social and psychological adviceThe Municipal Team for Attention to Violence against Women (EMAVI) has continued during the confinement with the work it provides for legal, educational, social and psychological care and advice to all cases that were already in care.It has also articulated the necessary responses to the new cases that have arisen.

So far this year, 170 new cases of women in situations of gender violence have been detected and have received attention from the EMAVI.

During the alarm state, 61 new cases have been detected.

Of these, 33 were attended for the first time by municipal technicians.1,783 attentions to women victims of gender violenceDuring the state of alarm the EMAVI has attended to a total of 380 women and has carried out 1,783 actions, of which 1,252 have been related to socio-educational care, 292 have been psychological care, 239 legal care and 193 social care, being processed the financial aid that has been necessary to face the situations of need detected.Similarly, the City Council has maintained its work of information, advice and technical and material support for the management of the 75 women's centers and the 15 women's associations that exist in the Murcian municipality.The professionals of the Department have maintained fluid contact with the boards of directors of the premises to attend to all incidents that have arisen, such as preparing activity projects and justifying subsidies.Reopening in SeptemberAs the operation of the women's centers is governed by the school calendar, it has been decided that these premises will not reopen until the second half of September.

This decision has been made for the sake of safety and in consensus with the boards of directors.The council is working on the development of a protocol for the reopening of these centers, guaranteeing the prevention of infections and complying with health regulations.

They will also make a catalog of the activities that will be carried out in the centers.Training activitiesThe members of the directors of the women's centers will participate in a program of training activities on the use of the electronic office for relations with the administration.

The course will be held the week of June 15 to 19 in collaboration with the Computing Service, which will provide its teachers.It will be carried out in different face-to-face sessions at the Local Development Agency in small groups and with all the necessary security and protection measures. In this way, although the centers remain closed, a further step is taken in training and informing the directors of these centers, providing them with the means to function electronically with the administration.
