Urban public transport yesterday registered about 29,000 more passengers compared to last Friday (25/01/2020)

Urban public transport, buses and tram, yesterday registered a total of 28,892 more passengers compared to last Friday, January 17.

Thus, bus users of urban transport lines in Murcia grew 23.61%, accounting for 2,903 passengers more than last Friday, January 17.

The shuttle, which was already free, has also increased passengers by 10%.

With respect to the Tram Service, during the day yesterday a total of 25,989 passengers were counted, which represents 27.5% more than the demand of the same day of the previous week.

In this way, the different measures implemented by the City Council in order to minimize the episode of pollution caused by mineral particles of African origin, which affects the entire Region and the Mediterranean, have caused Murcia to bet on public transport and deterrent parking lots.

The Governing Board yesterday approved the extension of the measures taken in an exceptional way and both public transport (urban buses and tram) and parking lots would remain free today.

Within these complementary measures, which are added to those included in the protocol of measures to be adopted due to air pollution at level 2, others are added, such as the recommendation that loading and unloading work be carried out after 18 hours and with the engines off and that the private vehicle is not used or parked in the blue and work zone of the ORA.
