New hiking and cultural routes, a yincana of King Paparajote or Scape Room sessions, among the novelties of the program 'Networks for Leisure Time' (20/01/2020)

The 'Networks for Leisure Time' program, promoted by the City Council Youth Service, again offers a complete and innovative program to promote healthy leisure among young people in the municipality during the first quarter of the year.

This initiative, aimed at young people between 12 and 30 years of age in the municipality of Murcia, will begin next Friday, January 24, ending on March 29 and will offer more than 50 activities during the weekends.

The new program will develop activities during ten consecutive weekends and different entities, associations, groups and young people that have participated in the program will be involved contributing ideas and suggestions.

Among the main novelties is a yincana with thematic of the card game of Murcia origin 'King Paparajote', in which different teams must defend the Region of Murcia of King Paparajote and future dangers.

It will take place on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m.

A Harry Potter wand creation workshop has also been scheduled to be held on Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the 585m2 Young Space where wands of the Harry Potter saga will be produced, in real size.

On February 8 the hiking route 'Ruta del Poeta Sánchez Bautista', a walk through the poet's' Arcadia 'in the orchard of Murcia, will be made, while on the 7th mallet the hiking trail will take place' Puerto del Garruchal and Walls King Kong ', located inside the Regional Park of El Valle-Carrascoy, where you can see huge calcareous formations from places like El Relojero or La Cresta del Gallo.

You can also enjoy a day of initiation to climbing the walls of El Valle on February 22, or a morning of raft and canoes on the Segura River as it passes through the city of Murcia, on March 28.

In addition to all these developments, the most successful activities include guided cultural routes, which has increased the offer compared to the previous quarter.

The routes scheduled until March are the following:

- 'History, legends and curiosities of Murcia' on February 1 in the afternoon, a tour of the city of Murcia unraveling the mysteries found in it.

- 'Murcia, city of palaces.

Riquelmes y Galteros, Saorines or Fajardos, Saavedras and Celdranes', illustrious lineages that settled in the city since the time of the reconquest, on February 15 in the afternoon.

- 'Squares and gardens of Murcia in spring' on March 21 in the afternoon.

The visit will show the most illustrious buildings of the squares and gardens with their palaces, churches or hermitages.

- 'Palatine and defensive architecture of the Wolf King in Monteagudo', on March 1 in the morning, a walk that will offer an approximation to the last excavations made in the area, and to the history of King Ibn Mardanish, known as the Wolf King .

The cooking courses will also be present thanks to the success of participation in previous programs.

Specifically, there will be three cooking workshops held at the 585m2 Youth Space on Fridays from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: 'Valentine's Recipes', where participants will acquire skills to prepare healthy recipes with the theme of this day;

'Easter recipes' and, as a novelty, 'Workshop of chocolates recipes', a participatory workshop in which, with the help of the monitor, participants will make their own creations of different types of chocolates.

In addition, two Scape Room sessions are scheduled on Sunday, February 23 and March 15.

The theme will be a fiction called 'The Curse of Romea' where young people use logic, observation and teamwork.

It is a fun new way to test the ingenuity where the participants will form a team and as such they must collaborate with each other to solve the different tests and leave the room before the time limit.

Another novelty this quarter is a day in the 'Federation of Peñas Huertanas' where young people will know the cuisine and folklore of the Region of Murcia through different activities, on March 14 in the morning.

The Networks program continues to focus on inclusive leisure and therefore a petanque Championship will be held on February 8 at the Las Palomas Sports Club in the San Basilio neighborhood.

In this new program, the activities of natural cosmetics, magic, kpop, manga comic, self defense, chess, guitar, drawing and painting, salsa, bachata, oriental dance and film script, capoeira, jugger among others continue, adding a total of More than 50 free activities every weekend.
