This afternoon, at 6 pm, 'Legends' is inaugurated in the General Archive of the Region of Murcia, a traveling exhibition launched by the Sports Museum.

The exhibition, which will remain in the city until February 12, is composed of about 500 objects of elite athletes.

José Ballesta: "It is an exhibition that, in addition to covering the history of sport, also presents its values, such as effort, perseverance and determination."

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, Cristina Sánchez, and the Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, will attend this afternoon the inauguration of 'Legends' in the Regional Archive of Murcia, at 6:00 pm, a sample organized by the entity 'Museo del Deporte', made up of about 500 objects belonging to great national and international sports professionals, such as the shoes that Usain Bolt used in the race with which he won the Gold in 100 meters smooth, at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

“It is an exhibition in which, in addition to learning the history of sport through valuable figures and objects, the values ​​of sport, such as effort, perseverance and determination, values ​​that have led athletes to elite to achieve their goals, ”said José Ballesta.

Admission to the exhibition, which will remain open to the public until February 12, is free.

The exhibition is home to about 500 objects of elite athletes, among which one of Fernando Alonso's Formula 1, Spanish National Soccer jerseys, Miguel Induráin's jersey, Mireia Belmonte's kit, replicas of world trophies and objects stands out from Murcia-born cyclist Alejandro Valverde, as well as from the ElPozo Murcia Futsal club.

The exhibition also features objects related to the Gasol brothers, the numbers of the athlete García Bragado - who is still active -, the history of the Spanish National Soccer Team, the ball with which Juan Seńor got 12-1 in the Spain's match against Malta and a collection of Olympic torches.

This itinerant exhibition, which began its journey eleven years ago, called 'Museo del Deporte', celebrates its 19th edition in Murcia. Specifically, it was created to show the greatness of Spanish sport, making known the history of its protagonists.

Madrid, Seville, León, La Coruńa Toledo are some of the cities through which this exhibition has already passed.

The Sports Museum is an entity promoted by a group of professionals from different fields, such as communication, marketing and sports, who presented a project that met the expectations of the Madrid 2016 Olympic bid, an initiative presented at that time as a specific assignment with the aim of creating a sports legacy.
