The mayor of Murcia, Jos Ballesta, together with the president of the Food Bank of Segura, Bonifacio Fernndez, today delivered the 2019 Murcia Prize to the Hero Espaa company, “for his solidarity and generous collaboration throughout the year, especially, to through baby food ”.
The Loyalty Prize was also presented to the company Spokesman.
The Food Bank of Segura (BASMUR), which celebrates its tenth anniversary, began its journey in 2009, with the aim of reducing social exclusion and helping the needy, as well as fighting hunger and using surplus food , taking advantage of perishable food as solidarity resources.
During his speech, Jos Ballesta wanted to remember “that the Food Bank of Segura is one of those essential organizations in our municipality” and pointed out “the symbolism of the image of the Matron of Murcia that presides over the facade of the Palacio del Almud, with the values recognized by the Food Bank: generosity and selfless delivery to those who need it most ”.
The event was also attended by the Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Prez, the Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, and the president of the Spanish Federation of the Food Bank, Juan Vicente Peral, and the Director General from Hero Europa Sur, Javier Uruuela, among others.
