The University of Murcia organizes the seminar 'Women, press and communication', which will take place from October 16 to 18 in the Hemicycle of the Faculty of Letters (Campus de la Merced) and which has been coordinated by professors María Belén Hernández González and María Gloria Ríos Guardiola.
This meeting aims to be a space for debate and reflection on the role of women in journalism and the media from a philological and audiovisual perspective, through the study and experience of women active in the columns of newspapers or with repercussions in public networks as illustrators, photographers and graphic storytellers.
Women have participated in the journalistic edition since its inception and, despite the social difficulties to excel in the field of essayism, documentation or graphic arts, have done an essential job in the development of the press and media, especially from the last third of the century.
