Huermur demands urgent approval of the regulations of the Cultural Heritage Law (10/08/2019)

Huermur asks the Regional Government for immediate approval of the necessary regulation that develops the Cultural Heritage Law of the Region of Murcia, as it must be approved in December 2018 and already accumulates more than half a year late.

The conservation entity has also requested a meeting with the new Minister of Education and Culture, in order to present various issues that require attention to the state of heritage, as well as the operation of the General Directorate of Cultural Property.

The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) asks the new Regional Government for immediate approval of the necessary regulation that develops the Law 4/2007 of Cultural Heritage of the Region of Murcia, as it should be approved in December of 2018 and already accumulates more than half a year late.

For Huermur, it is essential that the main regional norm that regulates the protection and conservation of historical and cultural heritage has a regulation that fully develops it, and remedies the numerous gaps that exist today in this regional legislation.

The regulation pending approval must be the legal text that regulates, for example, the functioning of the advisory bodies and advisory institutions, advisory bodies such as the Cultural Heritage Advisory Council, which today is totally deactivated and not functioning.

A situation that Huermur describes as inadmissible, as it is the most important citizen participation body in terms of cultural heritage, and is totally disjointed.

On the other hand, Huermur has already requested a meeting with the new Minister of Education and Culture, María Esperanza Moreno Reventós, in order to present various issues that require your attention on the state of heritage, as well as on the operation of the Directorate General of Cultural Property, the jamming of files that currently exists in that administration, the lack of the implementation of the mandatory electronic administration in this area, as well as numerous aspects to improve in terms of transparency and access to public information.
