The University of Murcia and the Murciano Health Service have configured a deployment that allows users with a UMU account to connect to the Eduroam network through the access points provided by the SMS.
At the moment, it is enabled throughout the HUVA except the emergency area, where it will also be activated in the future.
The solution can be extrapolated to any other hospital or area where the SMS has Wi-Fi deployment, so in the future it could be extended to the rest of Murcia hospitals.
Open your laptop and you are connected
Eduroam (education roaming contraction) is the worldwide secure mobility service developed for the academic and research community.
Its motto is: "open your laptop and you are connected".
The service allows students, researchers and staff of the participating institutions to have Internet connectivity through the University of Murcia and when they visit other participating institutions.
Eduroam is an initiative that coordinates the efforts of academic institutions in order to achieve a unique mobility space.
This initiative extends the mobility space to the European academic field, through eduroam Europe, and relates to eduroam Canada, the United States and Asia.
It is a milestone that connects with the digital strategy of the University of Murcia, facilitating access to its services at all times and places, and improving the user experience both among students and staff.
