UMU researchers awarded the second prize for the Santander Bank Award for the best CSR research (17/07/2019)

The researchers Catalina Nicolás Martínez and Alicia Rubio Bañón, of the Department of Organization of Companies and Finances of the University of Murcia, have received the second prize at the 5th Santander Research Award on Corporate Social Responsibility for a paper entitled 'Social entrepreneur: same or different from de rest ', in which Ana Fernández Laviada, from the University of Cantabria, has also participated.

The award-winning research analyzes the characteristics of the social entrepreneur, comparing them with those of the non-social entrepreneur, in a sample of 18,858 entrepreneurs from 58 countries around the world, with different levels of economic development.

The results show that the majority of factors that determine the decision to undertake not socially also condition the individual at the time of undertaking socially, although changing their relationship or the intensity of their influence.

This award is promoted by the Network of Santander RSC Chairs, sponsored by Banco Santander, which have among their objectives to promote general knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility, favoring its national and international projection, both in the academic and public and business fields. .

The Santander Research Awards on Corporate Social Responsibility were born with the aim of promoting the generation and transfer of knowledge, promoting the dissemination of studies conducted by researchers on aspects related to the three areas of Corporate Social Responsibility: economic, social and environmental.
