On the occasion of the arrival of the summer, one of the essential tasks in the green areas is the increase in the frequency of mowing the lawn, activity in which the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development is strengthening its efforts and teams.
"We have approximately more than 700,000 square meters of grass meadows and it is right now when they come out of their lethargy or winter hibernation, which causes greater care activity on the part of the different professionals of the parks and gardens throughout the municipality of Murcia ", Explains the mayor of the branch, José Guillén.
These works are developed by more than a dozen teams, with a total of 30 professionals for each and every one of the different green areas of the municipality of Murcia.
For this, it has state-of-the-art machinery, among them the mowing and recycling machines called turn 0, brush cutters and lawnmowers that allow the grasslands to look and maintain themselves properly.
The predominant variety of grass in the different green spaces of the municipality of Murcia is Pennisetum clandestinum (kikuyu), which now benefits from the tasks of subscriber that have been carried out months ago by the concessionary company STV Gestión and the City Council of Murcia.
The Park and Garden Service continues to review each and every one of the different spaces and green areas that both Murcia and its different districts have to ensure that the parks have the best possible image.
