The PSOE demands more seriousness in the measures against pollution and above all that are continuous and preventive (09/07/2019)

The Municipal Socialist Group warns the government team of PP and Cs that can not respond with measures of "cut and paste, which can be used for Murcia or for any other city, to episodes of contamination." If we really want to give definitive solutions and strong, have a good atmospheric environment and bet on the health and well-being of our neighbors, we must take preventive measures and consistent with the uniqueness of our municipality, measures that should be continuous, "says Councilman Andrés Guerrero.

In this sense, he explains that "taking pollution with interest and concern is already working on a plan of measuring stations that provide us with rigorous data, but it is also reducing and pacifying motorized traffic, creating zones 30, and, of course, more mobility. sustainable and improved public transport, as well as promoting bicycle and expanding the network of parking deterrents ".

Guerrero recalls the socialist proposals to provide free buses on days when pollution peaks are reached and to launch a cheap and efficient public transport to go to the workplace in the industrial estate West, because "you can not fight pollution by asking to the population the days that an alert occurs that does not plug the air conditioning, that parks in the Nueva Condomina, that works at a distance or varies the work schedule to be able to travel with public transport ".

In this regard, he adds that "we have to be realistic and stop joking measures that are the same for Murcia as for Cairo."

In addition, he declares that "it is also necessary to be brave because the pollution episodes are going to go further, it is not about occasional or sporadic situations, attributable to the anticyclone or the intrusion of sub-Saharan dust, but that they are becoming chronic, increasingly frequent. "

The socialist councilor insists that "the health of our citizens is above all and, if we do not stop this situation, it will affect our quality of life."
