The City Council celebrates the constituent session of the new Corporation and the election of the Mayor tomorrow Saturday (14/06/2019)

Tomorrow, Saturday, at 11 am, will be held the constitutive session of the Corporation of the City of Murcia, emanating from local elections held on May 26, and the election of the Mayor.

The act will begin with the formation of the Age Bureau, which on this occasion will be composed of Felipe Coello (Popular Party) and José Ángel Antelo (Vox), who will make the oath or promise and receive the medal, sash and lapel shield .

Then the rest of the councilors will proceed in the same way.

Once the Corporation is constituted, the second part will begin, which will be the election of the Mayor President.

For this, the Secretary General will give the floor to the head of the list in the last elections, who in his speech will indicate if they present candidacy to the Mayor's Office.

The order of interventions planned is as follows: Ginés Ruiz Maciá (Podemos), María Inmaculada Ortega Domínguez (Vox), Mario Gómez Figal (Citizens), José Antonio Serrano Martínez (PSOE) and José Ballesta Germán (PP).

The Secretary General will appoint all the councilors, one by one, to deposit their vote in the ballot box placed on the presidency table.

Once the scrutiny has been carried out, the candidate who is elected by an absolute majority will be proclaimed or, in the opposite case, the person who headed the list that was most voted in the elections held on May 26.

At that moment, whoever is elected will take an oath or promise and will receive the gold corporate medal and the baton, which will be deposited on the table after occupying the Presidency of the Plenary.

The act will conclude after the new Mayor pronounces the investiture speech.
