The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, presided over today the closing and delivery of diplomas of the Mixed Employment and Training Programs for Young and Seniors, a program to boost employment in the municipality that has an investment of 1.8 million euros jointly financed by the City Council and the Employment and Training Service (SEF).
In total, 143 diplomas have been awarded to students under 25 years of age and over 54 years old, who were unemployed and who, throughout a year, have received training in different professional sectors and carried out work practices remunerated, obtaining their corresponding certificates of professionalism.

This is only the beginning, you must continue advancing and reaching further.
The question we must ask ourselves is not what will happen, but what we are going to do, "said José Ballesta.
On the one hand, the workshops have focused on the construction sector, so that students have been able to specialize in areas such as masonry, electrical installations, plumbing, carpentry and furniture, heating and domestic air conditioning.
The other training cycle has been about gastronomy and tourism.
The training activities have been aimed at obtaining three certificates of professionalism: Bar-Cafeteria, Kitchen, and Basic Operations in Accommodation.
The participants have participated in the Murcia gastronomic event, elaborated menus and tastings for different groups and Murcian associations, and organized and managed the gastronomic services in different social interest events and public spaces.
