They crush the pruning remains of the Floridablanca garden to incorporate them to the soil respecting the 'green cycle' of nature (11/05/2019)

The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, directed by José Guillén is still committed to making the parks and gardens of the municipality spaces of coexistence, leisure, and meeting points between neighbors.

During these days we work on trimming pruning tasks in the Floridablanca garden in such a way that the 'green cycle' of nature is respected and the environment is taken care of.

Thus, pruning remains are incorporated into the soil to enrich them, also avoiding evaporation and reducing water consumption.

The pruning tasks are carried out with a special machine that creates a material called pruning.

In this way it is achieved that the branches that have been pruned are crushed and serve as an extra element for those green areas, retaining moisture.

In particular, with this work methodology, numerous advantages are achieved:

- Water saving by creating a padded layer that retains moisture, which is an improvement to the space where it is deposited.

- A structural improvement of the soil by providing minerals and nutrients that create what is known as a 'green manure'.

- Prevents the growth of weeds by serving as a barrier for germination to reach the soil surface.

- Visual improvement of green areas that are more uniform and aesthetically pleasing to citizens who pass by them every day.

The works are developed with a special machine, known as a biotrituradora, that allows in a few seconds to reduce those remains of pruning in the substance that will later be used in the green areas.

In the works, which cover about 500 gardens, work six workers who are responsible for the so-called 'green cycle' of nature is maintained daily.

Trees are planted, branches are pruned, challenges are crushed and incorporated back into the soil, avoiding impoverishment and thus maintaining their nutrients and properties.

Recovery of the Floridablanca garden fountain

The Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development is already working on the recovery of the Floridablanca garden source "The fundamental objective of this action is, as all those that are carried out from Parks and Gardens, improve the quality of life of the Murcians through the improvement of the public green infrastructures of the municipality ", has explained the councilman José Guillén

"We bet on the shadows and the water in the city that needs pleasant green areas so that Murcia can also enjoy our gardens in the hottest months of the year," says Guillén.

The project seeks to restart the source located on the main road.

This fountain stopped working and was later used as a flowerpot.

With these works will return to recover the water and its function as a source, humidifying the area and generating a small microclimate around it that will benefit the hundreds of users that the park has daily in addition to the trees and vegetation that surround it.

In addition to the cleaning of the land it will be reinstalled from the plumbing and purification system and automatic control.

The execution period is 15 days
