The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, chaired today the Board of Directors of Aguas de Murcia, which addressed the Action Plan 2015-2020, which includes an extension of a total of 5,344,000 euros for next year.

The Action Plan 2015-2020 involves the creation of 1,500 direct jobs and includes a total of 63 projects.
62% of the actions correspond to works to improve sanitation and the remaining 38% goes to work in the supply network.
New descent of water this year
Today's meeting is held after the recent approval of the draft water tariffs regulation ordinance.
The new rates for 2019 enhance its social nature, incorporating a reduction of 20% for all families in the life tranche, up to 5 m3, and giving special coverage to families at risk of exclusion, to which a reduction of 25% of the fixed water and sewerage fee, which may also be applied to the waste rate.
In addition, the debt of customers subject to the social rate will be taken into account.
With the entry into force of the new prices, 4,000 families will be able to benefit from the reductions provided for by the social tariff.
Likewise, the meter conservation rate is cut by 45%.
This is included in the draft regulatory ordinance for the rates for the provision of home water, sewerage and sanitation services and other services and activities provided in relation to the integral water cycle in the municipality of Murcia, approved 15 days ago by the Government Board.
