The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, visited today the residence of elderly people of San Basilio (Murcia) to share with their users, their relatives and workers, a day of coexistence on the occasion of the celebration of their 25 years of service.
During the day, the people who attended this meeting enjoyed the performance of the musical duo Susana and Sergio.
The residence of elderly people of San Basilio was inaugurated in 1994 and currently has capacity for 188 dependents, although currently the number of resident users is 160. In the center 164 people work to offer comprehensive care to their users , that need help to carry out the activities of daily life.
In addition, attached to the Residence there is a Day Center for dependents (SED) and a Day Center for people with Alzheimer's (SEDA) that serve 30 people.
During the day, Violante Tomás, recalled that "the care and care of our elders is a task in which we must all be committed to providing them with all the services they need for their quality of life and greater personal autonomy."
