The City of Murcia eliminates more than 500 vandalism paintings in El Carmen thanks to ADN Urbano (21/03/2019)

More than 20 walls have been decorated with geometric shapes and colors that express the identity of the neighborhood during the agitation phase of the Rebeca Pérez project: "In the coming weeks there will be a day of participatory and collaborative painting with neighborhood residents to raise awareness and paint streets of El Carmen more deteriorated "

The Office of Graffiti of the City of Murcia, directed by the Councilor for Infrastructure and Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, in collaboration with Ferrovial Servicios, has carried out numerous tasks of cleaning vandalised graffiti, both with means of hidrolimpieza and with repainting works in different areas of the El Carmen neighborhood thanks to the development of the ADN Urbano project.

In this phase of urban DNA agitation, façade clean-ups involving a total of more than 400 square meters are being carried out using more than 200 kilos of plastic paint to perform these tasks in which more than 500 graffiti have been removed. Vandalic in the neighborhood of El Carmen.

Rebeca Pérez has stated that "walls have been repainted in the vicinity of the Pintor Pedro Flores plaza, in General Martín de la Carrera Street, Clementes Street, Goya, Alonso Fajardo Alderman, Cartagena Street, Ruiz Hidalgo, Santa Úrsula, Álvarez Quintero and sections of the Paseo Marqués de Corvera.

We want to reach the entire neighborhood of El Carmen so that neighbors feel more proud of their streets thanks to ADN Urbano ".

At the same time, artistic recreations have been made in abandoned or disused spaces in different walls of these areas to beautify these spaces.

To this end, more than 20 walls have been decorated with geometric shapes and colors that express the identity of the El Carmen neighborhood.

The team of the Municipal Office of Graffiti will continue during the next weeks of the phase of agitation of Urban DNA through the streets of the neighborhood of El Carmen to perform tasks of repainting and cleaning worn walls.

Pérez concluded by announcing that "in the coming weeks there will be a day of participatory and collaborative painting with neighbors to raise awareness and paint streets of El Carmen more deteriorated as was done in the previous Urban DNA Santa Eulalia where a hundred participated of neighbors, so we invite all Carmelites to come and participate. "
