In iRadio, the radio of the Catholic University of Murcia, integrated in the Association of University Radio (ARU) of Spain, students have been broadcasting content for nine years and acquiring radio skills, fundamental to be incorporated in the best conditions to the professional world of Radio

The Faculty of Communication of the Catholic University of Murcia will join tomorrow Wednesday to the events organized nationwide on the occasion of World Radio Day, which this year is celebrated under the slogan 'Dialogue, Tolerance and Peace' proposed by the UN.

The UCAM, in collaboration with the Association of University Radio (ARU) of Spain, has prepared some informative pieces on how the communication students see the stations and where they are going.

iRadio, the university radio of La Católica, will share on its website, through postcast, the interuniversity content of all the radios in Spain.

iRadio has been active for nine years, and this year has ten programs on the grid, from various areas, such as sports, news or music.

"The students do radio voluntarily, in their free time, and playing the role that they want to dedicate themselves professionally," says Isabel García, iRadio's coordinator, who points out that in the current curricula the radio has gone to a background image "and we insist that no, that radio should be present in the education of students who like education, it is a teaching innovation project, promoting radio content from a constructive criticism continues".

A more multimedia radio

Television is continuously generating adaptations to technology, "but radio has been relegated, because there are people who still believe that radio is sound, evocation, imagination, creativity, build in the mind of the other, is not giving the content to that the other sees it ", says the professor of the UCAM Isabel García.

In this regard, he points out that a change is currently taking place, since the student who thinks about radio thinks about image, multiscreen, YouTube, streaming content and shared at the moment.

"The students demand a change," he says.
