The rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján, held a meeting Thursday with representatives of the Platform Colombine - Women Feminist Journalists of the Region of Murcia, who have presented to the institution their objectives and areas of action in favor of the promotion of equality between women and men.
Luján has signed the manifesto of the Colombine Platform, thus adding to the objectives pursued by the journalists that comprise it, among which the search for equality in the professional field of journalism stands out, as well as ensuring an inclusive communication and perspective of gender in the media and in public institutions.
This is the first institutional meeting that the Colombine Platform has carried out since its establishment, a detail that the rector has thanked.
The meeting has served as a starting point for the start of a common work for the future signing of a collaboration agreement to carry out actions of common interest.
The rector and Carmen Sánchez Trigueros, director of the Unit for Equality of the University of Murcia, have ratified the institution's commitment to research, training and the dissemination of equality.
