The PSOE recommends the PP to stop international travel and address urgently and effectively the real problems of personnel or transport (11/12/2018)

The Municipal Socialist Group today deplored the "lack of responsibility" of the government team, the PP, for "his disastrous management in front of the City of Murcia, which can be seen in various services where there is a shortage of staff and we have reported on different occasions ", explains Councilman Juan Vicente Larrosa, who made these statements when he learned about the trip to China undertaken by Mayor Ballesta and the Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, to attend an event on 'smart city'.

"It is very paradoxical that we attend, no less than in China, to an event of this nature, on smart cities when most of our municipal centers in neighborhoods and districts do not have Wi-Fi," says Larrosa, who points out in this regard that " to carry out international trips, the real problems of our neighbors, who suffer daily from problems of lack of personnel in Social Services, in Information, in Employment or in Housing, should be addressed urgently and effectively, which means that they do not receive timely attention or even the aids granted are not granted ".

The Socialist councilor points out that, "how the mayor has already taken photos with the Christmas trees opened and the lights on, now they want to do them in the Great Wall", adding that "we do not think it's bad if we take advantage of to know the projects that are giving good results in other cities, but to travel so that everything returns the same or worse, it does not seem so good ".

In that sense, he insists that "we do not believe it is essential to go to China to talk about 'smart city', if at least the trip was to improve public transport or to have a cleaning service that reaches the same frequency until the last corner of the municipality, we would understand this displacement better ".

In addition, he notes that "I am sure that traveling to China has taken less than any pregnant neighbor to travel by bus from Zeneta to Arrixaca Hospital."

The council believes that "it is smarter to serve the neighbors than to talk about technological cities, especially when they suffer the effects of neglect and inertia, with calls for employment that are not well managed, such as firefighters which is still in court or when the Citizen Service can not cover all its offices because it has no staff.
