The PSOE denounces the discrimination suffered by the municipality of Murcia by the pact of the resignation of the PP and Citizens (30/11/2018)

The spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group and deputy secretary general of the PSRM, Joaquín López, has denounced the discrimination suffered by the Region of Murcia and its municipalities, especially Murcia for its number of inhabitants, in the budgets "of resignation" agreed by PP and Citizens for the Autonomous Community.

"The budgets of resignation pose a scenario in which the citizens of the Region of Murcia is still more unequal, growth and economic recovery will only be seen in a few, which are those who have always been benefited with the Government of the right, "said Joaquín López at a press conference, accompanied by the candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano;

the spokesperson of the Municipal Socialist Group in the Town Hall, Susana Hernández, and the regional deputy Alfonso Martínez Baños.

According to Lopez, these budgets are especially damaging to the municipalities of the Region of Murcia, which with a very important effort try to alleviate the inaction and lack of attention of the regional government to the needs of neighbors.

It has criticized that the competences that corresponds to assume to the Autonomous Community, are leaving them in the hands of the city councils.

"This is the PP, this is the pact of resignation with Citizens: the abandonment of the municipalities and some investments that, today, about to enter the month of December, are executed in the budget of 2018 in the 30 per cent".

The Socialist leader has ensured that the pact of resignation clearly condemns the municipalities to continue making efforts that sometimes can not and leave unattended neighbors in those issues that the Autonomous Community does not comply.

"This is a budget that will not redistribute wealth in the Region in an egalitarian way, in an Autonomous Community with alarming rates of social exclusion and poverty." Therefore, this budget does not solve the fundamental problems of citizenship. the Region of Murcia, "he concluded.

For its part, the socialist candidate for the Mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, has once again claimed the law of local funding and has denounced that, once again, the Autonomous Community punishes the residents of Murcia.

"They are going to come to this municipality 63, 5 million euros, an average of 143 euros per resident of Murcia, very far from the Community average, which is 184".

It has indicated that this supposes an amount of 19 million deficit for the City council of Murcia.

"If we add to that the 39 million that the Consistory pays in improper competitions that the Autonomous Community should assume, we are going to 57 million euros of deficit".

"You can do many things, such as recovering the 150 police officers that have been lost since 2009 until now or create more and better infrastructure in neighborhoods and districts so that people live better and healthier," he said.

Finally, he insisted that the PP belittles the residents of the municipality of Murcia, and as future mayor, has committed to recover "what so many neighbors deserve and the PP takes away with his crutch Citizens."
