The councilor of Citizens Pilar Muñoz will propose in the Plenary on Thursday the installation of adapted bins and containers that can be used by people with disabilities, elderly and those who suffer some type of mobility problem, even if it is punctual.
"These containers, he explained," should have a mouth of entry of waste located in the front to a height that allows, for example, throw the garbage to a person who is in a wheelchair. "
In this sense, Muñoz will ask the government team to include, in the municipal budgets of 2019, a specific economic item to plan the replacement of the bins and containers of the municipality by others adapted to the basic conditions of universal accessibility.
It's everyone's business
In line with other proposals defended by the orange training to advance in this area, the mayor of Citizens will stress the importance of eliminating this barrier that faces not only people with some type of disability, but also the elderly and those who At some point in their life, they suffer from a problem of occasional mobility, when using containers.
Thus, Muñoz has stressed that "universal accessibility is everyone's business, it does not exclusively benefit a group, but it has a direct impact on the quality of life of all citizens".
"So much so," the councilor recalled, "which was one of the proposals of the budget agreement of 2018, a fact that motivates us to continue on the line and move towards the elimination of architectural barriers in our municipality."
