Rosa from Spain will be the Godmother of the Christmas Tree and will act this Saturday in the great ignition (27/11/2018)

Fifty children's workshops and more than 20 concerts will turn the Great Tree into the epicenter of Christmas in Murcia.

The kick-off will be this Saturday, from 6.30 pm, "a night in which Murcia will welcome Christmas, between fireworks, light, illusion, snow and live performances," said José Ballesta.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén, and the Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, today presented the program of activities of the Great Christmas Tree of Murcia, an act that has counted on the presence of loas of sponsors and collaborators that finance the activities.

The act has counted on the performance of the Choir of Capuchinos and the singer Salva Ortega.

The mayor unveiled the surprise guest who will act this Saturday, December 1, in the lighting of the Tree.

"It will be the singer Rosa López, whom we have named as our Christmas Tree's godmother, who will be accompanied by the groups from Murcia Funambulista and Belter Souls, in a night of light and illusion with fireworks, snow, projections and live performances, that will start at 18.30 in the Circular and to which all Murcia are invited to participate ".

After the lighting, fifty children's workshops and a total of 24 concerts will turn the Great Tree into the epicenter of Christmas in Murcia.

In addition, there will be two daily audiovisual shows at 20.00 and 21.30 hours.

The workshops (all free) will run from Thursday, December 6 until January 5, from 11.30 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 7.30 pm.

These are workshops and activities 'Made in Murcia', as they revolve around promoting and promoting Murcian Christmas traditions among Murcian children.

Schools from different districts of Murcia will visit the Tree during the holidays.

They have organized Christmas crafts, storytelling, dances, theater and magic, workshops socks and cards, puppets, Christmas cookies, muffins, animation, painting, decorations, games, face painting, video games with winter sports, cotillion, puzzles, tree plantations , Children's New Year's Eve show etc.

Once again there will be a Paje Real Solidarity Point in which all children who wish may donate their toys for other small towns enjoy.

In return they will receive doubloons of chocolate (more than 50,000).

Opera, folklore from Murcia and rock with Santi Campillo and Diego Martín

There will be a total of 24 concerts of different styles: opera, floklore Murcia, gospel, traditional Christmas carols, classical music, electronics, etc.

Highlights the performances of Santi Campillo (Sunday 30) and Diego Martin (Sunday 16) who, for the first time, will act on the Tree.

Parallel to the programming of the Circular Tree, the neighborhoods of the city and the set of districts will host hundreds of activities that will be presented in the coming days.

There will be nativity scenes, living births, trees, ice rink, exhibitions, theater, fairs, Christmas workshops, music, sports, animations, storytelling, crafts, magic, dance, shows and markets, cinema, concerts, etc.
