The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today expressed his "deep pain and dismay" to hear the news of the death of the writer, journalist and Official Chronicler of Murcia, Pedro Soler, who said he is' a person absolutely irreplaceable, both from the personal point of view as well as its enormous contribution to culture '
Linked throughout much of his professional career to the newspaper La Verdad, Pedro Soler was the author of numerous books that "portrayed with absolute mastery our cultural heritage as well as some of the most relevant authors of our history."
Author of several publications, among the latest stand out 'Four incredible stories' and 'Martinez Tornel: the great chronicler of Murcia and his garden'.
Pedro Soler received a fair recognition of his many professional merits when in 2016 he joined as a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Santa María de la Arrixaca.
Before, in November 2013, he received the appointment of Official Chronicler of Murcia, a position that 'dignified himself even more with his presence'.
Ballesta highlighted his extensive and prolific professional curriculum that, however, fails to achieve the human worth that he treasured, the fine irony that has always characterized him and unconditional devotion and affection for his family.
