Cs will request the adoption of measures to achieve animal welfare and budget allocation for the application of the CES method in the municipality (25/11/2018)

The mayor Paqui Perez defend this motion in the House next Thursday and present a request to know in what situation is the reform of the zoonoses center to apply the regional law of 'zero sacrifice' that will take effect in a few days

Councilwoman Paqui Perez will defend an initiative in the plenary next Thursday urging the local government to adopt measures to achieve animal welfare, among which highlights the start of procedures for the application of the CES method in the municipality of Murcia.

"This method of management, explained Perez," allows the identification of populations of cats living in the streets without control, as well as conducting a census on behalf of the City Council that would be responsible for capturing, sterilizing and releasing the felines once they are vaccinated and they are in optimal hygienic-sanitary conditions ".

"In our municipality there are quite a few colonies of cats without control," the mayor of the orange training has warned, who has insisted on the need to apply this method and that "the local government take it seriously establishing a game in the 2019 budget so that this initiative, if approved, does not remain a mere declaration of intentions. "

Ready for the 'zero sacrifice'?

Likewise, Perez will present a plea to the Plenary requesting information on the situation in which the restructuring of the Zoonoses Center is.

"An essential reform to help implement the regional law of 'zero sacrifice' that will take effect in a few days."

In this sense, the mayor of Cs will also ask about the steps that the Councilor for Health, Felipe Coello, is doing to streamline the regulatory development of this law, on the situation in which are the awareness campaigns for the adoption of pets and the implementation of sterilization campaigns, initiatives approved unanimously in previous plenary sessions to help achieve animal welfare in Murcia, zero sacrifice and end animal abuse and neglect.
