Cs claims to Ballesta to lift the suspension of occupation of the public road in Alfonso X and reach an agreement with the hoteliers (23/11/2018)

Mario Gómez: "Employers have been suffering the works for months and now that the pedestrianized section has been inaugurated, there is no point in continuing to authorize the placement of tables and chairs in the area, especially considering that the Christmas holidays are approaching and that the hoteliers could lose between 25 and 35% of their annual income if the suspension is maintained, in addition to the jobs "

The spokesman for Citizens, Mario Gomez, has asked José Ballesta to try to reach an agreement with the hoteliers in the area of Alfonso X for the use of public space and, that facing the Christmas holidays, lift the suspension of occupation of the way so that they can place the tables and chairs that they have authorized before the pedestrianization works.

In this sense, Gomez has reminded the mayor of Murcia that the hotel owners want to reach an agreement that puts an end to this situation and the months of loss that have been accumulating since the works began.

"It does not make sense that, once the pedestrianized section of Alfonso X was inaugurated, they still do not authorize the placement of tables and chairs on the avenue, especially considering that Christmas is approaching."

The spokesman of Cs has influenced the need to reach an understanding as soon as possible to unblock this situation and that, immediately, the modification of the occupation ordinance of the public road is studied to be able to reconcile the respect to the rest of the neighbors and the business and commercial development of the municipality.

"The important thing is to reach an agreement with debate, dialogue and consensus, not by force impositions," said Gómez, who has insisted that "it is essential that the modification of the ordinance comes from the joint work of all those involved."

"If an agreement is not reached, businessmen in the area could lose between 25 and 30% of their annual income during Christmas, without counting on the jobs that would be lost when affected by an arbitrary measure of the PP", has ended .
