Ruiz: It's surprising that the PSOE asks for an accessibility plan that he knows since May ' (21/11/2018)

The Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation recalls that the document has passed the public exhibition phase in the Transparency Portal and adds more than 300 actions agreed with all the services of the City Council and with disability entities, which have contributed 150 proposals

The City Council activates every day some measure of accessibility, either eliminating architectural barriers and communication;

increasing traffic lights with acoustic bells;

promoting accesses and adapted public spaces;

installing accessible games in parks and gardens;

or adapting documents in easy reading, among many others

The Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation, Conchita Ruiz has expressed her surprise at the statements of the PSOE councilor, García Retegui, about the Universal Accessibility Plan because 'she has been in possession of the draft since May, which means that it is elaborated and only the last procedure is left, which is its approval in Plenary, something that will take place soon '.

The document has already passed the public exhibition phase in the Transparency Portal and adds more than 300 actions agreed upon with all the services of the City Council.

'It is a plan worked and agreed with the entities of disability, who have contributed 150 proposals for action, and the residents of our municipality, as well as political groups, because we have prioritized the participation of all Murcia society, although That means having to delay the approval process a bit, "explained Ruiz.

In any case, the fact that it has not yet been approved does not mean that actions on universal accessibility are not being developed in all areas of the City of Murcia.

The head of Social Rights stresses that 'we are very afraid that the PSOE is not interested in the fact that architectural and communication barriers are currently being eliminated;

increasing traffic lights with acoustic bells;

promoting accesses and adapted public spaces;

installing accessible games in parks and gardens;

adapting documents in easy reading, creating an accessible leisure and culture offer, etc.

Apparently, Ruiz emphasizes, 'this for the PSOE does not count.

What counts is to detract from the work that is being done by the City Council's professionals to achieve a fully accessible municipality. "

Finally, the Popular Councilor insists that the Plan is in accordance with what is established by Law 4/2017, of June 27, Universal Accessibility of the Region of Murcia.
