The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, will attend this afternoon in the ONCE's Assembly Hall to present the book 'Cocina con sentido.

Rompiendo Barreras', coordinated by Murcia and ONCE affiliate María Dolores García, and in which the City of Murcia and the Cajamurcia Foundation collaborate.

It is a book that includes more than 100 recipes, made by blind people and which are also directed to those who see, with photographs and illustrations by Ignacio García and Mercedes Molina-Niñirola.

For this first edition, 1,000 copies have been published.

The book gathers the ingredients, elaboration and advice of elaboration of each dish, as well as the development and the anecdotes during its elaboration.

The germ of this cookbook is in the workshop 'Cooking with meaning' that took its first steps in February 2014, through the initiative of the vitalist and persevering María Dolores García, who with the publication of this book has managed to "place foreground the relationship of blind people with culinary culture, "said the mayor.

In this way, 'Cocina con Sentido' has been developed during these years with "the work of integration of the blind and the involvement of people with vision, which has resulted in a magnificent experience and an instrument of coexistence and integration ", Indicated José Ballesta.
