Murcia change has reported that the municipal government has made public the first Comprehensive Plan for Children and Adolescents 2019-2022 of the City, in the draft phase and without previously having the entities working in this area and municipal groups, also regretted that has begun to develop "very late", when it was a commitment acquired with the granting of the seal of "Child Friendly City" by Unicef.The councilor of municipal training, Margarita Guerrero, has said that the Popular Party " still does not take into account the participation at the time of elaborating the public policies beyond the testimonial or the legislative exigencies of exhibition and consultation ", at the time that has reminded the government team that the measures require budget and sufficient personnel to take them finished.
"Otherwise, the plan, as has happened with others, will remain on paper," said Guerrero, recalling that the rate of child poverty in the region amounts to 43 percent, which means that more than 120,000 children they live in situations of vulnerability or social exclusion, data that surpass the national average (32.9 percent) and the European Union (26.9), according to a report prepared by Unicef.
Regarding the development of the plan, the mayor has considered that, although the content is unknown by the municipal groups, this plan "should serve to guide the development of public policy in the field of childhood and adolescence in an integral way, attending to the structural problems and that compromise the development of the boys and girls of the municipality, such as the high rates of child poverty.
"The Popular Party installed in its communicative policy of the permanent announcement, returns to present a plan that in the best of cases will be approved next year," concluded Guerrero.
