The PSOE remarks that the PP "at nothing" helps to promote grassroots sports and calls for the regulation of fees in the use of facilities (16/11/2018)

The Municipal Socialist Group again warns of a new action of the Popular Party that "little or more at all" helps to promote grassroots sports, in this case football, and specifically women's football and is that the City Council Murcia has decided to charge around 4,000 euros to several teams of girls who play in the first and second regional categories and whose staff are mostly made up of girls of only 13 and 14 years old, but who are not given the treatment that is applied to students of municipal school.

Until now the Consistory was not charging these groups, whose leaders for now prefer not to appear publicly, to use the football fields.

However, the situation will change for them and they will have to make a disbursement that is very considerable for their limited coffers.

"We must bear in mind that while in men's football the first or second autonomic teams tend to be senior, in the female category the same is not the case and the majority of the underage girls are the ones who make up their squads and, as such, from the PSOE we understand that they should have the advantages that their age gives them in terms of gratuity in the use of sports equipment. If a team is made up of the majority of players of that age, it is normal that you do not have to pay as if it were a senior team ", explained Larrosa, who criticizes the management carried out by the Councilor for Sports, the popular Felipe Coello.

"A comparative grievance also occurs here with respect to other municipalities of the Region and the proof of this is that many teams announced their intention to use facilities in other municipalities where they are not charged or charged a much lower amount to which they are required in Murcia, "said the socialist mayor, who has stressed" the need "to change the ordinance that regulates the prices of public facilities, something that the PSOE took to the House and that the Corporation undertook to review .

"A year has gone by and these rates are still unchanged, we defend a reduction to really encourage grassroots sport in the municipality and real equality when it comes to practicing sport among men and women and boys and girls," Larrosa said. , who gives a latent example that occurred yesterday.

"The PP made a great display to deliver municipal subsidies to clubs and associations related to sport in the municipality, with the grant of almost 800,000 euros, but only nine of the subsidized teams were female," lamented Larrosa.
