The Ramón Gaya Board of Trustees is renewed with four members, among which the director of Reina Sofia, Martí Fluxá (15/11/2018)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, presided today the ordinary session of the Ramón Gaya Public Foundation, in which the appointment of the four new patrons was carried out: the president of the Board of Trustees of the Reina Sofía Museum, Ricardo Martí Fluxá;

the writer and former director of the Cervantes Institute, Juan Manuel Bonet;

the editor and Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, Manuel Borrás Arana;

and the lawyer and personal friend of Ramón Gaya, José Rubio Fresneda.

"These are four new additions that further enhance the work of this body, authorities in national art circuits that, from today, will work to disseminate and preserve the work of the Murcian talent Ramón Gaya universal," he said. José Ballesta

The Ramón Gaya Foundation is chaired by the Mayor of Murcia and also has ten members: five public employers and five private.

The four new private employers are joined by the life and widow patron of the Murcian painter, Isabel Verdejo.

During the meeting held in the Chamber of Corregidores, it was approved to award the distinction of Honorary Patrons to the four dismissed members: José Méndez Espino, Emilio Díez de Revenga, Francisco Flores Arroyuelo and Carlos Egea Krauel.

Ricardo Martí Fluxá is the president of the Royal Board of the National Museum Reina Sofía Art Center.

He is a lawyer and member of the diplomatic career and has been head of protocol of the House of HM The King.

He has been Secretary of State for Security and has received the Grand Cross and the Commendation of the Order Isabel la Católica.

Juan Manuel Bonet is a writer, critic of art and literature, curator of prestigious exhibitions and former director of the Cervantes Institute.

He has also directed the Instituto Cervantes in Paris, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art and the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum,

Manuel Borrás Arana is literary director of the Editorial Pre-texts, internationally recognized with different awards, including the National Prize of the Ministry of Culture for editorial work and the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts by the Ministry of Education , Culture and Sports.

José Rubio Fresneda has a degree in Law from the University of Murcia.

He was a personal friend of Ramón Gaya from 1974 until the death of the painter on October 15, 2005 and dealt with his legal affairs.

He participated in the previous works of creation of the Ramón Gaya Museum together with Sánchez Rosillo, Manuel Avellaneda and Manuel Fernández Delgado.
