The name of Avenida Alejandro Valverde, at the proposal of the Municipal Corporation, has received this morning the approval by the Advisory Committee for Denomination of Murcia Streets and Pedanías.

The section of the Avenida de Alicante will take this name, from the roundabout of Los Poetas, at the confluence of the Miguel Induráin and Kingdom of Murcia avenues, to the roundabout with the Cobatillas limit, on its way through the districts of Zarandona, Puente Tocinos, Casillas, Monteagudo and El Esparragal, with a length of 6,500 meters.

Likewise, the commission has approved the denomination of three other urban roads with the following names:

- Designate a public thoroughfare of the city such as Felipe Ortega Sánchez, at the proposal of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence of Murcia

- Designate a public space or city road as Escultor José Hernández Cano, which could be a garden in the northern area of ​​the city, between Juan de Borbón Avenue, Águila Águila Avenue and Acequia Caravija Street, within the limit of the district of Churra.

- Name Calle Cirujana Doña Jamila, at the proposal of the Royal Academy Alfonso X El Sabio.

The commission, chaired by the Councilor for Trade and Institutional Relations, Maruja Pelegrín, has had the assistance of representatives of all municipal groups, as well as the Chronicler Antonio Botías and the representative of the Alfonso X El Sabio Academy, Santiago Delgado.

In the session, the agreement of various denominations has also been ratified at the proposal of the respective municipal boards.
