Huermur has again requested the protection environment of the BIC monument of Paseo del Malecón in Murcia, whose existence is mandatory by law, since the Ministry of Culture lapsed the file in 2016.

The collective reproaches the passivity and the lack of action of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture and the City of Murcia so that this BIC monument has its proper environment of protection.

Huermur has requested a new environment of protection that guarantees the preservation and conservation of the cultural, landscape, environmental and social values ​​of the Paseo del Malecon, a monument that symbolizes the union of the city with the Huerta de Murcia.

The entity has asked the General Directorate of Public Function and Quality of Services to open an internal investigation for the lack of resolution of the protection environment file, as well as for the lack of response to various writings.

The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) has again requested the Ministry of Culture the establishment of the corresponding environment of protection of the Paseo del Malecón monument in Murcia, declared of Cultural Interest (BIC), In 2013, it was requested to Culture but this regional administration never managed to resolve it in a timely manner, causing the BIC environment protection procedure to expire.

Huermur regrets that an administration as important as the Ministry of Culture is not able or able to complete in time the declaration procedure of the Malecón environment, so they urge those responsible for this administration to duly attend this new request, the that Huermur will be extremely pending, without tolerating the slightest unjustified delay that harms the interests of this important monument of the garden of Murcia.

From the collective point out that the new environment requested a few weeks ago guarantees the preservation of the cultural, landscape, environmental and social values ​​of the Paseo del Malecón, since it covers from the San Francisco Plane and the Manterola Pasarela, to the end of the Malecón and the Molino del Amor, a large part of the hamlet of Arboleja to the river and the A-30 motorway.

In the same sense, the president of Huermur, Sergio Pacheco, indicates that: "it is unprecedented that we have to be pushing the administration to protect the environment of one of the most important monuments of our land and symbolizing the union of the city with the garden of Murcia, "he also adds that" this is the second time we have asked for the establishment of this protective environment since 2013 and that it is mandatory by law, so we will not tolerate a delay to enforce the regulations " .

Finally, and due to the lack of response from various writings and petitions about the protection environment of Paseo del Malecón formulated by Huermur, the General Directorate of Public Function and Quality of Services of the Autonomous Community has been requested to conduct an internal investigation so that these events do not happen again, and no more expirations and delays in the due protection of the BIC of Paseo del Malecón.
