CSIF Education demands "respect" for the Conservatory of Music of Murcia (13/11/2018)

CSIF Education demands "respect" for the Music Conservatory of Murcia, and considers it regrettable, as well as shameful, that concerts are held in the Artillery Barracks premises on Friday afternoon, coinciding with the classes, making it difficult, enormously, Access to the building for both teachers and students.

We criticize the lack of delicacy and foresight on the part of the Council of Celebrations of the City of Murcia, and we promise to put a formal complaint to the consistory.

From CSIF, alerted by the call of an affiliate commenting their discomfort, we went to the Artillery Barracks, where we could check on site that the square was "completely fenced", causing access to the Conservatory building was quite difficult, as You can see it in the photos that are attached.

During the tour of the area, our union delegate had the opportunity to talk with students and professors of the conservatory who showed their outrage by referring, for example, to that afternoon there was an award ceremony for vacancies that occurred at 5:00 p.m. and about 200 people between parents and students were called to this event, coinciding with the time of a concert scheduled by the City of Murcia that began at 17:30 hours.

Teachers and students have shown their discomfort because, apparently, it has become common for the City Council to schedule activities on Friday afternoons, perhaps, "forgetting and ignoring" that Fridays are academic and with the noises generated by these activities prevent the good development of the classes and the lack of concentration.

On the other hand, mothers and fathers of a nearby kindergarten, which also has its main entrance in the Artillery Barracks, told us, in the same way, their anger at such situation since the daycare center has service until 5:00 p.m. and it is not the first time that a concert is held on a Friday afternoon.

The facilities derived from these activities greatly hinder access to the barracks, where we must not forget that it also houses a public library and an aquarium, which we have learned that at some time has suffered mishaps such as breaks in fish tanks due to noise that occurs during These events.
