In October, the number of jobs offered in Murcia fell by 27% compared to 2017 (13/11/2018)

At the national level, the employment portal InfoJobs has collected a total of 298,031 vacancies in the month of October, with a growth of 3% over the same period of the previous year

The indefinite contractual modality was the most offered in October, representing 37% of the vacancies published in Spain

Madrid, with 31.5% of the vacancies published in Spain, and Catalonia, which accumulates 28%, are the Communities that generate the most employment.

For its part, the Basque Country has been the community that has experienced the highest growth of vacancies, 37% over 2017

InfoJobs, the platform for finding employment and talent, leader in Spain, studies each month the state of supply and demand for work in our country, to reveal the evolution of the labor sectors in terms of number of vacancies and which are the best opportunities to find work.

In the month of October, InfoJobs has collected a total of 298,031 jobs in Spain.

This represents a growth of 3% compared to the same month of 2017, with an increase of 9,175 vacancies.

The Community of Madrid, with 93,854 vacancies offered;

Catalonia, with 84,044 and Andalusia, with 23,882 job offers, are the Autonomous Communities that have posted the most jobs, concentrating 68% of the vacancies offered through InfoJobs.

With regard to the Region of Murcia, this Community has added a total of 3,322 offers in the month of October.

The sectors with more job opportunities in Spain

During the month of October, Computing and Telecommunications, with 34,091 vacancies offered, after Commercial and Sales (61,592) and Customer Service (38,962), were the sectors that generated the most employment in Spain.

Other sectors that have also performed positively in InfoJobs, significantly increasing the number of vacancies published compared to October 2017, have been Legal, with a growth of 63.5%, and the sector of Quality, production and R & D which, with an interannual increase of 43%, reached 5,513 vacancies published in October.

More than 78,000 vacancies offered indefinite contract in October

Among the jobs offered at InfoJobs in October, a total of 78,202 offers were published offering indefinite hiring.

This modality represented 37% of the total job offers published in InfoJobs that reported on the type of contract.

It is also the contractual modality most offered on the platform.

On the other hand, the offers with fixed-term contracts represented, last month, 28.5% of the vacancies in InfoJobs (60,358).

And with regard to the type of working day, among the jobs offered in October, the weight of full-time work, which represented 59.3% of the total vacancies, stood out.

20.6% of vacancies corresponded to part-time jobs, while 3.6% of jobs posed intensive work.

More than one million candidates sought work at InfoJobs in October, what is their profile?

In October, a total of 1,139,032 candidates have signed up for any of the job offers channeled through InfoJobs.

Of the registered candidates, 38.3% indicated having university studies and 27.1% declared having a training cycle.

Regarding their level of work, it is observed that, in October, 59.3% of registered candidates occupied or worked in positions of employee.

While 9.5% of the candidates were specialists and 7.7% occupied an Intermediate command position.

Regarding the preferences of these candidates, in InfoJobs, each user can select more than one preference regarding the contractual modality.

In the past month, 77.4% of the candidates included indefinite recruitment among their search criteria, as opposed to 20.5% of the candidates, who said they preferred a part-time work contract.

Likewise, when the candidates have a preference regarding the working day to be carried out, the most chosen option in October has once again been full-time.

Specifically, 35.9% of those registered chose it.

13.1% of the candidates prefer the intensive day, mostly intensive tomorrow (8.3%), while the remaining 10.2% would prefer to work part-time, mainly in the morning (5%).
