The Local Group of EQUO Murcia claims the City of Murcia a change of location of the concerts that, too often, occupy the public space of the Plaza del Cuartel de Artillería.
For months, a series of large private concerts have been held in that place, weekend after weekend, which interfere in the development of several institutions that carry out their activity next to the square.
In the first place, the Professional Conservatory of Music has altered its normal functioning, having reached the point of having to suspend classes last week because of the high noise level produced by the sound reinforcement tests of one of the concerts.
Students and teachers of the Conservatory must suffer practically every week, Thursday and Friday, a level of sound coming from outside that makes the normal development of the classes very difficult, if not impossible.
Also the users of the Library are affected, by preventing the silence environment necessary for reading and studying.
Secondly, and in spite of the repeated complaints to the town hall, the Aquarium of the UMU, located also in the same square, directly receives the vibrations, not only from the sound tests, but from the concerts themselves, which seriously alter the state of the fish that are there, due to stress, in addition to the case that these vibrations have affected aquariums, and must be repaired with the consequent economic cost that this entails.
Last, but not least, the occupation of several thousand square meters of public space for several days a week steals from neighbors the possibility of using and enjoying this space, dedicated for too many days to the celebration of private events.
Therefore, the green match EQUO Murcia claims to change the location of these concerts to a place away from the urban area, such as the north, along with shopping centers, as they have large parking areas and tram that connects directly with the center of the city.
