Ballesta defends "a common City Project and that will exceed us in time to win the future" (05/11/2018)

The mayor advocates a strategy that "transcends this Government and this Corporation" to meet the challenges of the next decade and draws the guidelines of the future projects 'Southern Connection' and 'Medieval Murcia and the Fortress of the Wolf King'.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, this morning opened the last debate on the state of the municipality of the legislature with an intervention in which he has rendered accounts on the management of Government made in the last three years and has defended a "Project of City agreed with the Murcian society that transcends this Government and this Corporation ".

"In my opinion," he said, "the need for a common project that exceeds us in time is an indispensable condition to win the future."

In his speech, Ballesta offered data and figures and reported on the progress in the various strategic projects that underpin the present and future development of Murcia, as well as the actions carried out in the five areas in which it is articulated: the territorial, social model, cultural, economic and smart city.

A Strategy supported in Europe

The approval of the Strategy of Murcia 2020 in May 2016 has turned Murcia into the City Council of the peninsula with greater funding from the Operational Program Plurirregional of Spain FEDER 2014-2020.

The financing coming from the DUSI Strategy, together with that coming from Red.es with the smart city project 'MiMurcia', amounts to more than 25 million euros from the ERDF.
