Huermur has filed a complaint with the Civil Guard Seprona for the work that the City of Murcia is doing in the Segura river bed next to the parking deterrent, as it is dredging the river and extracting mud from the bottom of the channel.
Huermur has informed the Benemérita that the sludge that is being extracted from the course of the Segura is, presumably, being finally dumped in a controversial quarry in the hamlet of Los Ramos.
The group studies to put these facts in the knowledge of the Environmental Prosecutor of the Region of Murcia to be investigated.
It will also request the City of Murcia the projects, licenses, permits of the CHS, and all the records of these municipal works.
The entity has also gone to the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura to request the pertinent authorizations for these actions in the Segura channel, as well as to the Ministry of Environment of the CARM, the environmental assessments and reports of these works.
The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) has denounced before the Civil Guard Seprona the works being carried out by the City of Murcia in the Segura river bed next to the Malecón's dissuasive parking, and that form part of the well-known municipal project 'Murcia Río'.
Huermur points out that the Segura riverbed is being dredged, aggressively extracting sludge by heavy machinery, which are then dumped to a kind of land raft next to the parking lot, apparently without waterproofing, and that are later loaded onto trucks that end up allegedly throwing the black mud in a controversial quarry in the mountain of the district of Los Ramos, after a journey of more than 11 kilometers from the capital.
The conservation organization has collected numerous photographic and audiovisual material that has been contributed to the Benemérita with the complaint, as well as planimetry of the quarry area in Los Ramos.
A material that evidences the worrying facts denounced by Huermur.
In the same sense, Huermur reproaches to the mayor of Murcia the extraction of mud from the already delicate channel of the Segura, as well as will request for registration the corresponding clarifications on these works and performances in the Segura as it passes through the capital.
Finally, Huermur will ask the City of Murcia all the files, plans, projects, authorizations, licenses and documentation relating to these municipal works.
All this, since on the municipal website it has been impossible to access the documentation, projects and reports on these works of the Consistory, for which Huermur also criticizes the opacity and difficulties in accessing information about these public works of the City Council .
In the same sense the conservationist entity will require the Hydrographic Confederation the authorizations for this dredging and extraction of sludge, as well as to the Ministry of Environment the authorizations for its presumed final destination in the Los Ramos quarry, as well as environmental and of impact of these works and performances.
