The pool of the University of Murcia is suitable for people allergic to chlorine (31/10/2018)

The university pool has this course with a new treatment system that has significantly improved water quality, as shown in the technical report of the Environmental Quality, Food Safety and Nutrition Service of the University of Murcia.

The previous system of disinfection by bromine has been replaced by a disinfection facility by hydrolysis and ionization Cu / Ag (copper / silver) with automatic pH control.

The University of Murcia has been one of the pioneering institutions in installing this innovative system that allows bathing people who suffer reactions to chlorine and eliminates the excess of chemicals in the water.

Specifically, some of the advantages that have been obtained are: the decrease of salt for saline electrolysis processes, the elimination of chlorine taste and odor and a high degree of water transparency.

As the aforementioned report shows, this system reduces the consumption of renewal water by up to 50%.

This decrease affects the energy consumption of the boilers by having to heat less renewed water from the network, which enters the circuit at 22 ° and reaches more than 30 ° in the interior.

The investment for the installation was 32,578 euros.

The winning company has co-financed this amount by 44%, which corresponds to the fungible expenses.
