Employment with a social accent (24/10/2018)

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs signs four collaboration agreements with CEOM, Nuevo Futuro, Patronato Jesús Abandonado and Asociación Murcia Acoge that combine professional training with the social benefit of the users of these entities.

The councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, signed this morning four agreements with entities in the social field whose common denominator is training for employment, contributing as a differentiating ingredient to the social nature of the agreements.

The objective, in some cases, is to promote the integration of vulnerable groups through professional qualification and, in others, collaboration between the administration and associations for the benefit of their users.

The City of Murcia was already collaborating in this regard with New Future, Jesus Abandoned and Murcia Acoge, and this year 2018 has joined the Association for the Integration of People with Intellectual Disability (CEOM).

'This understanding confirms that' with will, there are many ways to seek and find formulas to cooperate generating a benefit for both parties, without it being necessary that this revenue is necessarily economic ', explained Pacheco, who advanced that,' although At this moment we have this way of understanding with four groups, our will is to continue incorporating in the future more associations that work to favor the social integration of vulnerable people.

In this sense, the councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs stressed the importance of 'creating synergies that benefit society, each contributing what distinguishes them: students perform the practices they need to enter the labor market and entities who work to ensure the integration of those who need it the most also receive a benefit. '

'This is how a society is built,' Pacheco concluded.

In this way, one of these agreements, reached with CEOM -in whose representation has been intervened by its president, José Tomás Nicolás-, will allow the 40 unemployed people who take the certificate of professionalism 'Basic operations in accommodation' at the Murcia School of Hospitality He employs practices in CEOM, carrying out tasks of basic operations of catering in the dining room and tasks of cleaning of surfaces and furniture of buildings and premises.

Bakery and healthy menus

On the other hand, the agreement with the Association of Homes for Private Children of Family Environment, New Future, -represented by Juan Cruz Gómez Fayrén, president of the entity in Murcia- supposes the commitment of the City Council that the students of the School of Hospitality "Murcia Emplea" elaborate weekly homemade cakes and healthy birthday cakes for minors who are supervised by the administration in Nuevo Futuro homes.

For its part, the agreement with the Board Foundation Jesús Abandonado -signed by its president, José Moreno Espinosa- has as its purpose the collaboration in the realization of professional internships of the students who study Mixed Projects of Employment and Training subsidized by the SEF.

Until now, the agreement included the collaboration of the students of the Kitchen Professional Certificate in the daily preparation of 65 menus, for the social dining room of Jesus Abandonado, on the Carretera de Santa Catalina.

This year the collaboration of the Murcia Emplea Hospitality School is expanded, performing tasks of cleaning rooms, washing, ironing and clothing repair, through the support of students / workers who take the Certificate of Operations Basic in Accommodation several days per week, in the facilities of the Board.

Finally, the agreement signed with the Murcia Acoge Association -represented in the signature by its vice-president Edith del Carmen Blanco- is aimed at training young immigrants who have difficulties in the Spanish language, in order to increase their possibilities of insertion labor.

To do this, it will teach Spanish to immigrant students who require it, while promoting the dissemination among users and students of equal opportunities between men and women in order to raise awareness throughout the society of the persistence of discrimination and the need to work to eradicate it.
