The councilman of Urbanism, Environment, Water and Vegetable Garden, Antonio Navarro, has presented this morning the Day of the Clean Mount 2018 together with the president of the Federation of Mountaineering of the Region of Murcia, Luis Rios, and the president of the Federation Scouts of Explorers of Murcia (ASDE), Daniel López, accompanied by the Spanish Champion of Mountain Racing, the Murcia Ariadna Mataix.
The Day of the Clean Mountain, which is part of the program of the festivities of the Murcia Fair, will consist of the installation of a tent, during the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Fuensanta, from which information will be provided and bags will be distributed especially made from potato skin, totally biodegradable and biocomposable, to raise awareness among attendees about the need not to dirty the natural environment and protect it from the risk of fire.
In addition, the Mountaineering Federation of the Region of Murcia will be responsible for coordinating awareness, training and environmental education activities in the Clean Mount Day 2018.
Last year, the cleaning services of the City Council collected 24,600 kilos of waste, so it is necessary the collaboration of all attendees to ensure that the forest remains clean.
During the Romerías of other years, an approximate participation of 750,000 people has been registered.
