Huermur denounces that the file of declaration of the Old Bridge or the Dangers of Murcia, as an Asset of Cultural Interest, has expired to the Ministry of Culture for an error in the administrative procedure and has taken almost a year to dictate the expiration.

The entity criticizes that it is not the first time that records of protection of monuments and cultural assets to this regional administration expire, and reproach the Minister of Culture for the lack of resources of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets.

Huermur has resubmitted the application for the initiation of the new file and the declaration as BIC of the Bridge of Dangers, including a protective environment of more than 76,000 square meters that safeguards the values ​​of one of the most important monuments of Murcia.

The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) denounces that the file of declaration as Cultural Interest of the Bridge of Dangers has expired, without having been definitively resolved by the Ministry of Culture of the Regional Government, all this despite having obtained the favorable reports from the consultative entities, since the procedures began in February 2015.

Huermur points out that the legal services of the Ministry, through a report drawn up in June 2017, indicated that there was an error in the public information procedure and that the procedure for a new public information procedure should be rolled back, but after the deadline had elapsed Maximum allowed in the law of property to resolve the file, two years, it has expired because it did not obtain the final declaration resolution within the stipulated period.

The conservationist group criticizes the Ministry of Culture and its leaders for the lack of interest in the protection of the monuments of Murcia, since it is not the first time they expire BIC protection records of monuments, and from Huermur remember for example that also the protection environment of the monument of Paseo del Malecón expired.

In the same way Huermur this week, and taking advantage of the 278th anniversary of the bridge on the day of Our Lady of the Assumption, has presented again the request for protection of the Bridge of the Dangers as an Asset of Cultural Interest, also including an environment of protection of more than 76,000 square meters, which thus guarantees the effective conservation and protection of the values ​​of the monument.

Huermur also points out that much of the delimitation of the environment has been made with the contributions of consultative entities, the College of Architects and with the Culture reports themselves, so it expects that the counseling does not put more impediments to establish an environment duly adequate, that guarantees the preservation of the values ​​of one of the most important monuments of the city of Murcia.

Finally, the president of Huermur Sergio Pacheco, points out that: "We hope that this BIC protection file will not expire again, because if it happens it will not be the first of a diverse list of expired monuments, and we would be forced to go to the instances necessary to investigate what happens in this regional administration with such expiration of files "," we trust that Culture will put the batteries and get forward the protection records of the monuments of Murcia and its garden ".
