The Mayor presents the 'comprehensive and ambitious' agreement with Citizens' beyond a simple numerical or budgetary pact' (14/07/2018)

The commitment includes 34 measures in the 11 areas of municipal management aimed at promoting the general interest of all Murcia.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today presented the institutional agreement backed by the majority of the Municipal Corporation that will allow to approve Budgets that will be 'the foundations on which Murcia will be able to continue progressing'.

The agreement reached with Citizens is based on the eleven areas that constitute municipal management and includes specific actions aimed at promoting the general interest of all Murcians, without distinction.

In the presentation, Ballesta has been accompanied by the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, and the Spokesman of the Municipal Group of Citizens, Mario Gómez, along with other councilors of the Corporation.

The basis of the agreement is based on three fundamental axes.

The first of these, consensus, the result of many meetings, hours of negotiation and open dialogue between the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Urban Mobility, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, and the Spokesman for Citizens, Mario Gómez, 'to whom it is fair to acknowledge the effort and dedication that have been made to make this understanding possible, "explained the Mayor.

It is also a 'broad and ambitious agreement and goes beyond a simple numerical or budgetary agreement'.

It consists of 34 points that include measures and actions that will improve the administration and increase the quality of services received by Murcia.

Establishes real commitments that, far from partisan interests, much less personal, will serve to respond to the general interest of all Murcia, without distinction.

Second, the agreement provides for 11 measures:

1. Improvements in the public transport service,

2. Creation of a Municipal Transportation Entity.

3. Economic endowment for the 'buhobús'

4. Creation of a network of dissuasive car parks, including a solution to the Malecon parking

5. Reduction of the price of water and elimination of the fee for pouring into the sewer system

6. Housing Investment Plan

7. Investment Plan for Universal Accessibility

8. Investment Plan Bicycle Lanes

9. Plan of Tourist Dynamization

10. Shadow plan in schools and playgrounds for children

11. Provide Intervention and Decentralization services with the necessary human and material resources to ensure proper control and oversight of public spending, as well as carry out an improvement in the quality of citizen service in districts.

The third commitment covers all areas of management over which the City Council has competence.

Therefore, the whole society will benefit from its development.

The areas included in the commitment are:

2. Lower taxes

3. Smart City

4. Infrastructures

5. Social Rights

6. Education

7. Security

8. Districts

9. Urbanism

10. Budget Rigor

11. Staff

"We want the commitment reached by the Government and Citizens Team to be clear and known by all," stressed the Mayor, who has announced that the document will be made public in the coming days with the measures, detailed and explained, which constitute the commitment that we voluntarily assume both parties with all Murcia.
