The UMU hosts the awards ceremony of the XI Informatics Olympiad in the Region (13/06/2018)

The auditorium of the Faculty of Computing will host tomorrow, June 14, the awards ceremony of the XI Informatics Olympiad of the Region of Murcia, which will take place at 17:30 hours.

This edition has had an excellent level of participation, with 125 students from about 20 centers throughout the Region of Murcia.

The tests have consisted of different robot contests, videogame programming, graphic programming and the traditional programming contest where students demonstrate their problem solving skills using this development environment.

As a novelty, this year there has been a project contest for the promotion of ICT vocations among women and girls.

In addition to the prizes that will be given in the act, the winners of each category have received a free tuition in the summer school organized every year by the Faculty of Computing.

The act will have the presence, among others, of Pedro Miguel Ruiz Martínez, dean of the Faculty of Informatics;

Juan Monzó Cabrera, general director of Universities and Investigation of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia;

María de los Ángeles Navarro Bailón, coordinator with the UMU Secondary School;

and Ginés García Mateos, director of the Informatics Olympiad and vice-dean of Students of the Faculty of Computing.
