Huermur considers it a great mistake that the City of Murcia has completely buried the numerous and diverse archaeological remains found in the Molino de la Pólvora on the main ditch of Aljufía.
The collective reproaches the desire of the Consistory to bury and forget the history of Murcia and its garden, to which adds the lack of sensitivity to put in value what is found next to the historic Huertano mill.
Huermur requested registration information to the City Council weeks ago, but today no response or archaeological reports have been received, only limiting the shovel recently and burying all the findings.
The Association for the Conservation of the Garden and the Heritage of Murcia (Huermur) denounces that the City Council has totally buried all the remains and archaeological finds found next to the historic Molino de la Pólvora on the main ditch of Aljufía.
The conservationist collective deeply regrets the lack of consideration of the Consistory of the capital to the heritage and history of Murcia and its garden, since all those remains that arise both in the city and in the garden are buried and forgotten, totally obviating the possibility to put them in value to enhance the tourist and cultural resources of our land.
From Huermur requested weeks ago by registration information about the findings found, but the City Council and its corresponding council today have not submitted any archaeological report of what appeared next to the historic polvorista mill, limited only to bury them underground after receiving the requests of information of Huermur.
In the same sense, the president of Huermur, Sergio Pacheco, regrets that "the City Council, with the mayor Ballesta at the head, do not see the need to put in value the archaeological remains found, as a source of culture and wealth for Murcia" .
Finally, from Huermur hope that the people in charge of the City of Murcia send the information requested by the collective weeks ago, and return to remove from the ground the remains of the Molino de la Pólvora so that all Murcia can enjoy this important part of the history of the huerta Murcia.
